Shekhar Koirala’s suggestion to reduce tax on petroleum by Rs 26.62 per liter
He stated that such an arrangement should be maintained till the price of petroleum products in the international market decreases.
KATHMANDU: Nepali Congress leader Shekhar Koirala has suggested the government to remove the tax on petroleum products for the time being.
He suggested that a decision be taken not to levy taxes to save the people from the scourge of inflation and to keep the economic activity dynamic.
He stated that such an arrangement should be maintained till the price of petroleum products in the international market decreases. He stated that only half of the customs and declaration fee should be taken and the remaining tax should be removed.
Koirala tweeted, “In order to save the people from the scourge of inflation and keep the economic activity dynamic, the government has increased the infrastructure tax on the price of petroleum products to Rs 10, road maintenance tax to Rs 4 and half of the customs and declaration fee of Rs 25.23 to Rs 12.62. .62 per liter in the international market until the price is decided not to take. ‘
