One killed, 11 injured in bus accident in Saptari
The bus from Biratnagar to Katari slid uncontrollably 20 meters off the road.
KATHMANDU: A bus accident in the Saptari district today killed one person and injured 11 others.
A passenger bus (Na 5 Kha 1898) crashed on the East-West Highway of Hanumannagar Kankalini Municipality-1 in Saptari district between Koshi Barrage and Kankalini Temple.
According to Armed Police Inspector Kishman Tamang, a 55-year-old man was killed and his identity could not be determined.
The bus from Biratnagar to Katari slid uncontrollably 20 meters off the road. Man Bahadur Tamang, 70, of Katari-3, Udayapur, and his wife Bishnu Kumari Tamang, 69, have been shifted to Biratnagar as their condition is critical, while the other four injured are being treated at the Bhardaha district hospital and five others at the local medical center.
According to Saptari Police, the bus driver who fled the scene of the accident is being sought.
