Persons selling non-prescribed drugs held
A police team mobilized from the Police Circle Balaju arrested them.
KATHMANDU: Police have arrested four people including a pharmacy proprietor on the charge of selling medicine to a drug addict without the doctor’s prescription.
Those arrested in this connection are 42-year-old Dil Bahadur Karki of Ganga Jamuna Rural Municipality-5, Dhading district; 22-year-old Raj Kumar Tamang and Sanu Tamang, 22, of Kakani Rural Municipality-1, Nuwakot district and 24-year-old Sanjaya Putuwar of Goldhunga, Tarakeshwor Municipality-5, Kathmandu.
Karki has been running the Ganga Jamuna Pharmacy, a drug store at Lolang, Tarakeshwor Municipality-5.
A police team mobilized from the Police Circle Balaju arrested them based on a tip-off that medicines were being sold from the Ganga Jamuna Pharmacy which was operating illegally without acquiring a license. The police squad found them guilty of the offense in course of an investigation.
Police also confiscated 450 tablets of ‘Spaspain’, 240 tablets of ‘Trama’ and 500 capsules of ‘Tramadol’. The Police Headquarters said they have been sent to the Department of Drug Administration, Bijulibazar, Kathmandu for further investigation and action.
