In Pictures: Farmers protest against government at Maitighar

KATHMANDU: Five communist-backed farmers’ organizations, including the CPN-UML, have staged anti-government protests in the capital’s Maitighar today.

They have launched a joint farmers’ movement calling for the control of the black market in chemical fertilizers, as well as the current shortage of chemical fertilizers, rising petroleum prices, and rising prices.

Protesters carried rice seeds in their hands and chanted anti-government slogans during the demonstration.
