Airlines to begin regular flights from 11 a.m.
Domestic flights will resume at 11 a.m., following the withdrawal of the decision to close them indefinitely.
KATHMANDU: Airlines operators have decided not to strike. They have reversed an earlier announcement that flights would be halted indefinitely.
The government had warned to arrest the strikers and revoke the airline’s license under the Emergency Services Act. The agitation was called off, according to Captain Rameshwor Thapa, chairperson of the Association of Airlines Operators, after the Prime Minister’s Office expressed interest in the matter.
According to him, talks with NEA about its five-point demand are still ongoing.
On the initiative of the Prime Minister’s Office, talks were held on Tuesday night between the government and a team of airline operators led by the association’s president, Captain Rameshwor Thapa.
Other demands, other than not halting the flight, are said to have not been resolved as a result of the midnight talks. It is expected that all issues will be resolved by holding additional talks with the government this afternoon.
