These are the requirements to register in the voter list
The commission has also stated that no additional proof other than citizenship is required.
KATHMANDU: The Election Commission has begun compiling the voter registration list. Since June 15, the commission has been compiling voter lists for federal and state elections.
According to the commission, it has resumed voter list compilation after receiving complaints that names were missing even after the voter list was compiled at the local level in Mangsir (Nov/Dec) prior to the local level election. The commission states that the photo list can be filled out at the district administration, area administration, and district election office.
Those who live outside the district where they have a permanent address can register by reaching the election office in the district where they live. The commission has made arrangements to register names on the voters’ roll from all 77 district election offices, all 77 district administration offices, and 73 area administration offices. ‘Those who live outside their permanent address can register at the district election office where they live,’ said Aryal, the commission’s information officer. There were 177,33,723 voters in the local level election.
What documents are required?
To register a name on the voter list, an original certificate of Nepali citizenship is required. The commission has clarified that if the name is to be included in an address other than the permanent address specified in the citizenship, marriage registration and a residency certificate for the location where the name is to be registered are required.
The commission has also stated that no additional proof other than citizenship is required if the name is to be included in the permanent address mentioned in the citizenship.
