Speaker’s ruling to the government to respond to fuel price hike
The speaker stated that he had drawn his attention to rising petroleum product prices.
KATHMANDU: Speaker Agni Prasad Sapkota has directed the government to notify the House of the fuel price increase.
He issued the ruling in the name of the government after lawmakers brought it to the Speaker’s attention during today’s House of Representatives meeting, claiming that fuel prices had been raised repeatedly.
The speaker stated that he had drawn his attention to rising petroleum product prices. According to the Speaker, “I would also like to draw the government’s attention to the issues raised by the honorable members. I direct the government to present the facts on this issue to the House.”
Nepal Oil Corporation has raised the price of petroleum products beginning today. Protests are being held from the House to the streets in response to the price increase.
