More than 15 families benefited from Vianet’s Good with Internet
Vianet's Good with Internet is an effort to assist people in staying connected to the internet for educational purposes.
KATHMANDU: For another year, Vianet Communications Pvt. Ltd. has continued its well-known CSR campaign Good with the Internet.
The CSR initiative began during the COVID-enforced lockdown to assist people who were denied educational opportunities because they could not afford the internet.
The initiative began in response to Human’s Kathmandu’s social media post about Pratibha Didi, who moved from Kavre to Kathmandu to educate her child but encountered difficulties in the pandemic-enforced online world. After hearing the story, Vianet decided to help the family by providing internet access for the child’s education.
This single act spawned the Good with the Internet CSR campaign, which assists families who cannot afford the internet and thus their children’s education simply because they cannot afford the internet.
At its core, Vianet’s Good with Internet is an effort to assist people in staying connected to the internet for educational purposes.
In recent years, internet connectivity and affordability have improved significantly. However, many children are denied access to high-quality educational opportunities simply because they cannot afford the internet. And the company wishes to reach out to them as much as possible.
In the initiative’s second year, Vianet assisted people such as Dalli didi from Jumla, who set up a street shop at Charapath’s junction to educate her four children, Amala didi from Dolakha, who sells panipuri at Kapan to educate her son and daughter, and others.
The company intends to assist many such families in the coming years and has encouraged people to contact them through their implementing partner @HumansofKathmandu.
