Kathmandu. When Sheikh Mohammed Maktoum Juma Al Maktoum arrived in Jhapa for a visit and met Durga Prasai, a businessman and key member of the CPN-UML, two issues arose. First- He is the Prince of Dubai, Second- He gave Prasai a golden stick as a gift.

Many people were skeptical when they heard that the Prince of Dubai had arrived in Nepal without any discussion or preparation. However, as his visit came to an end, it was revealed that he is a member of the royal family, rather than the prince of Dubai.

Despite the fact that Maktum is a member of the royal family, his visit is mentioned in a letter written by the UAE Embassy in Nepal to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. The letter is safe with Makalu Khabar.

Maktum has been working as the head of ABM, a business entity of the Dubai royal family, according to the MBM website.

Did Maktum give Prasai a Golden Stick?

Another topic being discussed in conjunction with his visit to Nepal is the gift he gave to businessman Durga Prasai. Prince Maktum presented a gold stick as a gift during a meeting with businessman Prasai. As soon as the news of Prasai’s stick became public, rumors spread that it was made of gold. When we contacted B & C Hospital’s public relations officer Pramesh Giri for clarification, he stated that the stick was not made of gold. “The stick is not made of gold,” he explained, “and I’m not sure how such rumors spread.”

In fact, when giving a respectful gift to someone in the Arab world, it is customary to give a gift of gold.
