KATHMANDU: CPN-UML leader and former defense minister Ishwor Pokharel has questioned when did the army asked the government about the US State Partnership Program (SPP).
At a meeting of the House International Relations Committee, Pokharel posed this question to the Chief of Army Staff.
When did the Nepal Army ask the government while writing a letter to the United States, he questioned Chief of Army Staff Prabhu Ram Sharma. “It is said that the army wrote the letter on Bhadra 24, 2072 (10 September 2015) and the defense took it positively on Ashoj 13 (Sept 30). Who was the defense minister and prime minister at that time?,” Pokhrel questioned.
He also stated that the role of the people should be gradually revealed. Pokharel stated that the Nepal Army has been conducting military exercises with armies from various countries every year, but the fact that it is being held under a military alliance has made it more serious.
