Malaysia reports 2,033 new COVID-19 infections, 5 new deaths
Five more deaths have been reported, bringing the death toll to 35,730.
KUALA LUMPUR: Malaysia reported 2,033 new COVID-19 infections as of midnight Thursday, bringing the national total to 4,534,665, according to the health ministry.
There are no new imported cases, with all 2,033 cases being local transmissions, data released on the ministry’s website showed.
Five more deaths have been reported, bringing the death toll to 35,730.
The ministry reported 1,337 new recoveries, bringing the total number of cured and discharged to 4,474,358.
There are 24,577 active cases, with 32 being held in intensive care and 18 of those in need of assisted breathing.
The country reported 11,272 vaccine doses administered on Thursday alone and 85.8 percent of the population have received at least one dose, 83.2 percent are fully vaccinated and 49.4 percent have received boosters.
