Two persons of a single family missing in Taplejung landslide

KATHMANDU: A family of two has gone missing after a landslide occurred last night in Khewang village, Sirijangha Rural Municipality-7, Taplejung.

According to Laxman Adhikari, a local resident in the village, Tulasa Adhikari and her daughter-in-law Yashoda Adhikari are missing in the landslide that occurred around 8:30 p.m., while Yashoda’s husband Bishnu Adhikari saved his life by escaping the incident.

The landslide destroyed two houses Adhikari family and buried all of their livestock. The incident’s specifics are still unknown.

Likewise, heavy landslides have occurred at different places in the district following the torrential rainfall.
