No agreement been reached to bring other countries’ armies into Nepal: Government

KATHMANDU: The government has stated unequivocally that the US State Partnership Program (SPP) agreement contains no truth.
At a press conference held on Thursday to announce the cabinet meeting’s decision, government spokesperson Gyanendra Bahadur Karki stated that the agreement to bring soldiers from other countries into Nepal was false.
He stated that the country would not do anything contrary because it was a sovereign and independent nation. According to Karki, the MCC is in the process of implementation after being passed by the House.
Spokesperson Karki said that the cabinet meeting has decided to accept the grant assistance of around Rs. 366.2 million from the Japanese government for the development of human resources in Nepal. The government has decided to continue the work of private housing reconstruction and reinforcement end of Ashar (mid-July).
According to Karki, the government has appointed Rajeshwar Gyawali, joint secretary of the Ministry of Finance, as chairperson of Rastriya Beema Company Limited and Suresh Raj Joshi as chairperson of Taragaon Development Committee.
The meeting approved the policy 2078 on government land registration and leasing, as well as the working procedure 2078 on auction sale and deduction of government property and commodities.
