Nabil Bank brings cashback scheme based on QR transactions

KATHMANDU: Nabil Bank has launched a new cashback scheme based on QR business targeting women and youth QR merchants.

The scheme was launched under the ‘QR Code: Nabil Bank Digital Promotion for Women and Youth’ project, a collaboration between Nabil Bank and the United Nations Capital Development Fund (UNCDF).

According to the bank, the scheme was launched with the objective of promoting women and youth through digital financial solutions, especially in the post-COVID-19 period. The youth in this project are 18 to 24-year-old entrepreneurs as defined by the United Nations. Who are running their own business or direct business. Earlier, Nabil Bank had announced a similar cashback scheme on the occasion of New Year.

Under this one-month scheme, women and youth QR merchants will be given 10 percent cash back on the first QR transaction or a maximum of Rs. 200. The scheme will be implemented throughout the month of Ashar (June/July), the bank said.

Targeting women and young entrepreneurs who do not have access to finance, the scheme aims to bring such entrepreneurs into the banking channel, activate the old dormant merchants and provide them with digital financial solutions to promote sustainable financial transformation.
