Rawal’s suggestion to PM not to act against national interest (with video)
He claimed that the US was pressuring Nepal to sign the draft State Partnership Program (SPP)
KATHMANDU: Bhim Rawal, leader of the CPN-UML, has advised Prime Minister Sher Bahadur Deuba not to act against the interests of the country.
Talking to media persons at the Parliament House on Tuesday, Rawal said that he was attempting to act arbitrarily against the interests of the country and urged the Prime Minister to put a stop to such actions.
Rawal also accused Mrs. Arzu Rana Deuba of forcing India to hold talks with Energy GS, claiming that the Prime Minister lacked the mandate to pursue the military power nation.
He claimed that the US was pressuring Nepal to sign the draft State Partnership Program (SPP), and that this was part of a plot to turn Nepal into a military arena for some other country.
He argued that the State Partnership Program (SPP) was a violation of Nepal’s independent foreign policy and an attack on Nepal’s very existence. Rawal said that it was irresponsible for the government to remain silent even when serious issues were raised.
Similarly, Congress leader Min Bahadur Bishwakarma stated that the United States has been assisting Nepal in the military field because the United States is Nepal’s ally. He stated that the government was working to strengthen the Nepal Army’s modernization and capacity building in the context of relations.
He contended that the MCC had received assistance for the energy sector in the interests of Nepal, as well as military equipment.
