14,000 metric tons of manure in stock: Agriculture Minister Yadav

KATHMANDU: Mahendra Raya Yadav, Minister of Agriculture and Livestock Development, has stated that 8 million metric tonnes of manure will arrive from India by Ashar (June/July) and that there will be no shortage of manure.
In response to a question raised during the House of Representatives debate on the Ministry of Agriculture’s appropriation budget, Minister Yadav stated that 14,000 metric tonnes of manure was on hand and that 8 million metric tonnes would arrive by Ashar (June/July).
He claimed that funds have been set aside for the establishment of a chemical fertilizer factory in the country and that discussions have begun in the Investment Board.
Minister Yadav stated that the farmers’ pension will be implemented beginning with the next fiscal year, and that data collection is currently underway. He clarified that the budget was allocated to make the agricultural profession self-sufficient by making it respectable, dignified, and profitable, as well as to develop the sector’s infrastructure.
He has already written to the Ministry of Home Affairs to request compensation for the damage caused by rains in the paddy fields last year, and he informed that Rs. 5 billion has been set aside for this purpose.
