Nepali visiting team including Sports Minister Gahatraj landed in Moscow
Minister Gahatraj, who reached in Russia on the formal invitation of Russian Sports Minister Oleg Matytsin, is scheduled to pay a courtesy call on Sports Minister Matytsin on Tuesday.
KATHMANDU: Maheshwar Gahatraj, Minister of Youth and Sports, has landed in Moscow. A delegation led by Minister Gahatraj landed in Moscow on Tuesday morning after departing for a five-day official visit to Russia on Monday morning.
Representatives of the Nepalese Embassy and the NRN greeted the Nepali delegation, which included Minister Gahatraj, at the Moscow airport.
According to Ministry Secretary Damodar Regmi, Minister Gahatraj, who reached in Russia on the formal invitation of Russian Sports Minister Oleg Matytsin, is scheduled to pay a courtesy call on Sports Minister Matytsin on Tuesday.
During the five-day visit, Minister Gahatraj is scheduled to sign the Russia-Nepal Sports Cooperation Action Plan 2022-2023. He also informed about the policy adopted by Russia for the development of the sports sector and the process of running sports universities. There is also a program to monitor international stadiums and sports museums.
Minister Gahatraj will also hold diplomatic meetings and discussions on the development of Nepal’s overall sports sector and mutual cooperation with the President of the International Boxing Association, Umar Kremlyov, the Secretary-General of the Boxing Federation of Russia, and representatives of various sports-related organizations during his visit.
Minister Athak, who is in Russia with Ministry Secretary Dr. Damodar Regmi, is scheduled to return home on June 17.
