UML demands removal of ‘Finance Ministry’ from agenda
The CPN (UML) is unwilling to discuss unless the finance ministry is removed from today's meeting agenda.
KATHMANDU: The CPN-UML, the main opposition party, has demanded that the Finance Ministry be removed from the agenda of Tuesday’s House of Representatives meeting.
The budget above the finance ministry, according to UML chief whip Bishal Bhattarai, cannot be discussed while questions are being raised against finance minister Janardan Sharma.
We are not prepared to discuss the budget with the Ministry of Finance in this situation. Consider this. The CPN (UML) is unwilling to discuss unless the finance ministry is removed from today’s meeting agenda.
The discussion on the budget released to the Ministry of Finance is number 9 on today’s agenda.
Demand for the resignation of Finance Minister
The UML has made a formal request to Finance Minister Sharma. He also suggested that Prime Minister Sher Bahadur Deuba respond to the US Congress. “The finance minister should lead the way by looking at the history of the past,” MP Surendra Panda said. Similarly, the Prime Minister should notify Parliament.
