BIRATNAGAR: Seventeen settlements families in Udayapur’s Katari Municipality Ward No. 10 are at risk of landslides. Families who have been threatened by landslides for three years have yet to be relocated.

Udayapur MP Kala Ghale stated during the state assembly’s zero hour that the settlement has not been relocated even though the village has been buried. “Katari 10 Tilkichauri was buried in 2077 BS Ashoj (Oct/Sept 2020),” she explained. “17 homes in the buried village are in danger.”

A geologist conducted an on-site inspection at the request of Katari Municipality after the settlement itself was threatened. Despite the fact that geographers have asked 17 landslide-prone households to relocate within two months.

MP Ghale drew the government’s attention to move the settlement to a safer place immediately.
