Metropolitan decision to make public toilets available in Pokhara hotels & restaurants

POKHARA: In Pokhara, as in Kathmandu, the private sector’s toilets will be made available to the public. Following the executive meeting, the Pokhara Municipal Corporation decided to open the private sector toilets to the public.

The metropolitian has stated that it will enter into agreements with banks and business houses, including hotels and restaurants, to accomplish this. Mayor Dhanraj Acharya stated that public toilets will be built in the required locations within the next year and that private sector toilets will be used in the interim.

Similarly, the meeting decided to relocate Pokhara’s landfill to Pokhara-33. To operate Pokhara International Airport, the landfill at Pokhara-14 Bacche Buduwa, which is currently under construction, must be removed immediately.

The decision was taken at the first meeting of the elected representatives in the metropolitian. It has been decided to arrange the necessary budget for the landfill. In addition, a committee has been formed to find land for the construction of an administrative building in Pokhara.

Pokhara 2 chairperson Diwas Mann Pradhanang, Pokhara 17 chairperson Radhika Shahi Yogi, and senior engineer Purna Gurung make up the committee.

They will immediately study and locate suitable land. According to Acharya, the committee has been tasked with recommending the land at the next executive meeting.
