KATHMANDU: The government has announced the candidature without announcing the date of the periodic election.

With the election to the House of Representatives and the State Assembly not yet over, there is a wave of candidacy announcements in the federal capital Kathmandu.

While the government is discussing whether to hold elections in Mangsir (Nov/Dec) or Falgun (Feb/March), the announcement of candidature has started in the capital. Now smaller parties and independent candidates are announcing their candidacies.

Purar Bam has given his candidature from Kathmandu Constituency No. 1. He announced his candidacy independently a few days ago.

Similarly, Suman Sayami, who got good votes from the Kathmandu Metropolitian in the local elections, has also decided to contest in the federal elections. It has not been decided from which constituency in Kathmandu he will contest the election.

On the other hand, Ranju Darshana, who has tried her political career in some discriminating common party, has also announced her candidature from Kathmandu Constituency No. 5 in the House of Representatives election. She will also run independently.

Singer Sanjay Shrestha has announced his candidature from Kathmandu Constituency No. 6. Shrestha, who is active in the Rastriya Prajatantra Party, has said that if the party gives him a ticket, he will give his candidature on behalf of the party.

Similarly, former Prime Minister Baburam Bhattarai’s daughter Manushi Bhattarai has also announced her candidature from Kathmandu. She is preparing to contest from JSP. She is preparing to contest from 5 or 7 constituencies in Kathmandu.
