MP Jayanti Devi demands end to violence against women in NA meeting

KATHMANDU: In a National Assembly (NA) meeting on Wednesday, MP Jayanti Devi Rai urged the government to take tough action against those involved in violence, murder, and rape against women across the country.

During today’s National Assembly meeting, MP Jayanti Devi Rai condemned the burning alive of a woman in Darchula and demanded action against those responsible. “How long should a woman die in the name of violence?” she said. “Why can’t the government take action against the perpetrators of such crimes?”

Similarly, MP Nara Bahadur Bista has demanded action against the person who posts obscene videos on social media depicting violence against women.
