KATHMANDU: On Tuesday, 157 trucks carrying approximately 1,200 metric tons of garbage from Kathmandu Valley were transported to the landfill site.

Garbage was managed at the site at Banchare Danda on May 24 and 25. The most recent immersion took place on May 26, 27, and 28, at Sisdol. Following that, garbage transportation was halted due to local impediments.

Balendra Shah (Balen) the mayor of the metropolitan and Sunita Dangol deputy mayor, met with the Minister of Urban Development, the Chief Minister of Bagmati State, regional officials, and stakeholders to resolve the issue.

On Monday, a meeting at the Ministry of Urban Development decided to begin waste management with a three-way commitment.

The tripartite commitment was signed at the Ministry of Urban Development by Minister Ram Kumari Jhankri, Metropolitan Mayor Balendra Shah, and Deputy Mayor Unita Dangol.
