LOSAPA submits memorandum to PM Deuba

KATHMANDU: The Democratic Socialist Party (LOSAPA), which has been in informal talks with the government about joining it, met with Prime Minister Sher Bahadur Deuba this morning and handed over an 11-point formal memorandum.

On Tuesday, leaders including LOSAPA Chairperson Mahanta Thakur arrived at the PM’s residence in Baluwatar. After arriving in Baluwatar, the leaders presented Prime Minister Deuba with an 11-point demand, proposing that their party join the government.

LOSAPA has asked for population-based representation in local, state, and the house of representatives, as well as population-based budget distribution.

The party has also demanded that a citizenship bill be passed and that those detained on false charges during the Madhesh movement be released.
