Government revokes decision to grant two-day leave

KATHMANDU: The government has reversed its decision to declare a holiday on Sunday.

The public holiday on Sunday, which was implemented to reduce gasoline consumption, has been reduced.

The cabinet meeting on Monday decided to rescind its decision to grant a public holiday on Sunday.

Previously, the government decided to trial two days of vacation per week beginning May 15.

Previously, the government was chastised for being ineffective for two days on public holidays.

The new decision will go into effect on June 15.
