WASHINGTON: Two people and a shooter died after a shooting outside a church in Ames, U.S. state of Iowa, on Thursday.

The Story County Sheriff’s Office tweeted they received multiple calls reporting that a male individual had shot two people in the parking lot of a church in the evening.

“There are three people deceased, one of them being the male identified as the shooter,” the sheriff’s office wrote.

“There is not an ongoing threat to the community. There will be no further updates at this time,” it added.

Ames, a city in Story County, is about 50 km north of Des Moines in central Iowa.
