KATHMANDU: A total of 190,739 tourists have visited Nepal in the first five months of the year 2022.
According to data from the Department of Immigration, the Nepal Tourism Board reported that 53,608 tourists arrived in May, while 58,384 tourists arrived in April.
Maniraj Lamichhane, Director of the Nepal Tourism Board, stated that the country’s tourism industry has recovered by nearly 75% since the COVID-19 outbreak. The COVID-19 pandemic dealt a severe blow to the country’s tourism industry.
According to Director Lamichhane, the country has seen an increase in tourist arrivals from Bangladesh and Europe, indicating that tourism is on the mend.
