Biplav-led Maoist holding a general convention in Ashoj

KATHMANDU: JUNE.  1 -The Communist Party of Nepal, led by Netra Bikram Chand ‘Biplav’, is scheduled to hold its general convention in Ashoj (Sept/Oct).

The party’s central committee meeting held in Udayapur has decided to hold the party’s ninth general convention from Ashoj 1 (Sept. 17). According to party central member Om Punka, the decision to hold the general convention on Ashoj 1 (Sept. 17) has been passed.

Leaders Dharmendra Bastola, Hemanta Prakash Oli and others have split the party and formed the CPN (Maoist) majority. After this, the party will hold a general convention immediately. Secretary-General Biplov had presented the political report in the meeting held from Jestha 12 to 17 (26 to 31 May).

The meeting also discussed the party’s upcoming strategy.
