Phurba, who was arrested for abusing actress, was released on bail

KATHMANDU: MAY. 31 – Phurba Lama has been released on bail after being arrested for abusing actress Miruna Magar.

Govinda Prasad Rijal, Chief District Officer of Kathmandu, released him on Rs 3,000 bail.

He was arrested on Monday after Miruna filed a complaint with the police alleging abuse. Police presented Lama to the CDO office in a case of indecent treatment, and Rijal ordered his release on Tuesday.

A legal provision allows the Chief District Officer to order a sentence of less than one year. According to SP Dinesh Raj Mainali of the District Police Complex in Kathmandu, CDO Rijal has ordered Lama’s release under the same conditions.
