Gita Majhi dies while undergoing treatment

KATHMANDU: MAY. 31 – A woman from Khairhani, Chitwan, who was severely injured during her husband’s torture, died while receiving treatment.

Gita Majhi, 10, of Khairhani, died after being treated at Bharatpur Hospital for five days.

On Monday, Majhi was operated on. According to Gopal Poudel, information officer at Bharatpur Hospital, the injured died in postoperative care.

‘She was in postoperative care following the operation yesterday.’ “She died last night of a sudden cardiac arrest,” he said.

Ram Chandra Majhi, 40, injured his wife Gita five days ago by inserting a stick into her anus.

Ram Chandra was arrested immediately after the incident by police.
