Thasang RM chairperson says, “13 bodies found, it may take 2/3 days to send to Kathmandu”
KATHMANDU: MAY. 30 – So far, thirteen bodies have been found on a Tara Air plane that crashed in Mustang district’s Thasang Rural Municipality-2.
The bodies of 13 of the 22 passengers were found, but identifying them proved difficult, according to Thasang Rural Municipality Chairperson Pradip Gaichan. “There have been 13 bodies found so far,” Gaichan told Makalu Khabar. “No other bodies have been found.” The bodies found are difficult to identify.
Tara Air’s 9N-AET aircraft lost contact with the tower at Jomsom Airport at 10:07 a.m. Sunday. The plane, which was not found during yesterday’s search, was found at the foot of Manapathi Himal on Monday morning.
Chairperson Gaichan stated that due to the dense fog in the crash area, it may take several days to bring the body. “We’re at the bottom of the crash site. Some have made it to the top, and we keep in touch on a regular basis. It is difficult to transport a gathered corpse. The road system is not linked. Going by helicopter has a seasonal issue. We’re trying to figure out how much people can bring. As a result, bringing the body here will most likely take a 1/2 day. ‘We’re thinking about how to send it to Kathmandu.’
There were 22 people on board, including three crew members. Locals who reached the accident site said that the bodies were found scattered everywhere.
