POKHARA: MAY. 30 – A Nepal Army team has just arrived at the location. Helicopters have been unable to fly due to bad weather, so some army personnel have gone on foot. The bodies are being gathered with the assistance of the army, police, and locals.

Prem Poudel, Nepal Army Bijayapur Public Relations Officer, stated that efforts are still being made to obtain the helicopter. “The weather is cloudy. ‘One of our teams has arrived and is building the site,’ he said, adding that the bodies are being collected.

According to him, one army soldier and one police officer were released by helicopter. The body was said to be taken to Kathmandu, but no decision would be made until the bodies were brought to Kowang, according to Poudel.

The plane was found in a wrecked state at Sanosware in Mustang district’s Thasang Rural Municipality-2. Tara Air’s 9N-AET twin-ottar plane, which flew from Pokhara to Jomsom, had been out of contact since Sunday morning.

There were three crew members and 19 local and foreign passengers on board.
