Balen Sah been elected as mayor of Kathmandu

Balen has secured 23,426 more votes than his closest competitor, Congress' Sirjana Singh.

KATHMANDU: MAY. 27 – Balen Sah, an independent candidate, was elected mayor of Kathmandu Metropolitan City.

According to the tally on Thursday, Sah won the mayoral post with 61,767 votes.

Likewise, Congress mayoral candidate Sirjana Singh secured 38,341 votes. Keshav Sthapit of the UML polled 38,117 votes.

Balen has secured 23,426 more votes than his closest competitor, Congress’ Sirjana Singh. Suman Saimi, another independent candidate, polled 13,770 votes.

Madan Das Shrestha of the RPP secured 5,770 votes, while Samikshya Baskota secured only 647 votes.
