KATHMANDU: MAY. 27 – Sunita Dangol, a CPN-UML candidate, has been elected as the Deputy Mayor of Kathmandu Metropolitan.
Dangol was elected with 68,612 votes.
Rameshwar Shrestha of the coalition’s Unified Socialists polled 23,806 votes for the post of deputy mayor.
Bidya Shrestha, an independent candidate from the ‘Aankhijhyal’ symbol, secured 13,695 votes for the post of deputy mayor. Binita Magaiya of the RPP received 12,141 votes.
Benji Singh Maharjan, an independent candidate for deputy mayor, secured 6,555 votes.
Out of the total 3242 voters in Kathmandu Metropolitian, 190,962 votes were cast. Out of them, 7,682 votes have been invalidated.
