UML wins in Dang’s Tulsipur Sub-Metropolitian

KATHMANDU: MAY. 25 – The CPN-UML has been elected mayor and deputy mayor of Tulsipur Sub-Metropolis in the Dang district.

By defeating the ruling coalition in Tulsipur of Dang district, the CPN-UML has won both the mayor and deputy mayor positions.

Tikaram Khadka and Syani Chaudhary have won the post of mayor and deputy mayor respectively. Khadka defeated Nepali Congress candidate Gehendra Giri for the post of mayor. Khadka polled 31408 votes, while Giri polled 27716 votes.

Chaudhary secured 30,597 votes for deputy mayor, while her nearest rival Jog Bahadur Rana Magar of CPN-U got 21,065 votes.

The previous election in Tulsipur was also won by the UML.
