KATHMANDU: MAY. 25 – Balendra Sah, an independent candidate for mayor of Kathmandu Metropolitan City, has maintained his lead.

Sah, who has been making headway since the beginning of the counting, has surpassed Nepali Congress candidate Sirjana Singh and UML’s Keshav Sthapit. Balen secured 52,251 votes in the most recent poll results.

NC’s Singh secured 32,822 votes. Sirjana and Keshav are nearly 20,000 votes behind Balen. UML Keshav has received 32,807 votes.

Sunita Dangol of the UML has maintained her lead in the race for deputy mayor.
