ANFA appoints Nawayug Shrestha as national football team’s captain
Nawayug was announced captain during a program on Tuesday to bid farewell to the Nepali team

KATHMANDU: MAY. 25 – Nawayug Shrestha has been appointed as the captain of Nepal’s national team.
Following the inclusion of outgoing captain Kiran Chemjong in the team, the All Nepal Football Association (ANFA) has appointed forward Nawayug, a long-time member of the national team, as captain.
Nawayug was announced captain during a program on Tuesday to bid farewell to the Nepali team, who were leaving for Qatar to prepare for the third round of AFC Asian Cup qualifiers.
Kiran, who was seen in against of the players during a dispute between the players and the national team coach, was not included in the national team without any information.
Nepali team:
Goalkeepers: Deep Karki, Bishal Sunar and Tikendra Singh Thapa
Defenders: Bikash Khawas, Bikash Tamang, Gautam Shrestha, Rajan Gurung, Shiva Gurung and Suman Aryal
Midfielders: Aakash Budha Magar, Arik Bista, Nir Kumar Rai, Pujan Uparkoti, Roshan Rana Magar, Santosh Tamang, Sesehang Angdembe, Sunil Bal and Suraj Jyu Thakuri
Forwards: Ayush Ghalan, Darshan Gurung, George Prince Karki, Manish Dangi and Nawayug Shrestha (captain).
