Chiri Babu Maharjan re-elected Lalitpur Mayor

KATHMANDU: MAY. 25 – Chiri Babu Maharjan, a Nepali Congress candidate, was elected mayor of Lalitpur Metropolitan City.

Maharjan secured 42,722 votes. Hari Krishna Byanjankar of the CPN-UML polled 24,560 votes. Byanjankar was defeated by Maharjan by a margin of 18,162 votes.

Similarly, Manjali Shakya Bajracharya of the CPN-UML was elected deputy mayor with 25,085 votes. Similarly, her closest rival, CPN-Maoist candidate Baburaj Bajracharya, polled 18,752 votes.
