In Pics: Demonstration by ANNFSU & Youth Union demanding withdrawal of petroleum price hike
The Nepal Oil Corporation (NOC) raised fuel prices at midnight on Sunday.
KATHMANDU: MAY. 24 – The All Nepal National Independent Students’ Union (ANNFSU) and the National Youth Union of Nepal protested the increase in the price of petroleum products today at Maitighar Mandala.
The Nepal Oil Corporation (NOC) had hiked fuel prices with effect from midnight on Sunday.
According to reports, the corporation has raised the price of petrol, diesel, and kerosene by Rs 10 per liter. Petrol is now Rs 180 per liter. According to the corporation, diesel and kerosene will cost Rs 163 per liter, and cooking LP gas will cost Rs 200 per cylinder. A cylinder of gas now costs Rs 1,800.
Sunita Baral, Chairperson of the ANNFSU, and Kiran Poudel, Chairperson of the National Youth Association of Nepal, both spoke at the demonstration.
