Balen garnered over 48,000 votes

KATHMANDU: MAY. 24 – Balen Sah, the independent candidate for mayor of Kathmandu Metropolitan City, has maintained his lead with a large margin of votes. Sah has exceeded 48,000 votes with approximately 44,000 votes still to be counted.

Balen received 48,922 votes, while Nepali Congress candidate Sirjana Singh secured 30,025 votes, according to the most recent public poll results released this morning. Balen is 18,897 votes ahead of Sirjana.

Keshav Sthapit of the UML obtained 29,159 votes, while independent candidate Suman Sayami got 7,654 votes.
