KATHMANDU: MAY. 24 – Dhanraj Acharya, a CPN-Unified Socialist candidate, is on the verge of winning the Pokhara Metropolitan mayoral election. According to the current poll results, Acharya has a lead of 4,936 votes.

So far, 130,727 votes have been counted out of the total 143,226 votes cast in Pokhara. Approximately 8,000 metropolitian votes remain to be counted.

According to the most recent results, Acharya polled 54,337 votes, while UML mayoral candidate Krishna Thapa secured 49,601 votes.

Manju Devi Gurung, a CPN-UML candidate, is also expected to win the post of deputy mayor. According to the most recent results, she secured 56,741 votes, while Congress deputy mayoral candidate Kopila Ranabhat polled 52,670 votes.
