Woman dies in lightning strike in Udayapur

KATHMANDU: MAY. 23 – A woman was killed in a lightning strike in Goth Danda of Katari Municipality-11 in the Udayapur district on Sunday afternoon.

Bhakta Kumari Budhathoki, 45, of Goth Danda, died after being struck by lightning, according to the Katari Area Police Office.

Budhathoki, who was sitting on the verandah of the house, was seriously injured on Sunday afternoon when lightning struck with wind and rain.

She died in the evening while being rushed to Katari Hospital for treatment, according to Chief Deputy Superintendent of Police Man Bahadur Rai.
