KATHMANDU: MAY. 23 – On Monday, visiting US President Joe Biden met with Japanese Emperor Naruhito.
Naruhito greeted Biden upon his arrival at the Imperial Palace.

According to the Imperial Household Agency, the meeting was their first since they met in Dec 2013 as crown prince and vice president during former President Barack Obama’s administration.
Following his meeting with the Japanese Emperor, Biden will hold talks with Japanese Prime Minister Fumio Kishida on a variety of security and economic issues, according to officials.
The US president arrived in Japan for a visit on Sunday, as 750 people took to the streets of Tokyo to protest the upcoming US-Japan summit and the Quad summit.
