DHARAN: MAY. 22 – Harka Raj Sampang, an independent candidate, was elected mayor of Sunsari district’s Dharan Sub-Metropolitian.

Harka Raj was elected mayor by a margin of 4,762 votes over Nepali Congress leader Kishor Rai.

With 20,821 votes, Sampang was elected mayor. Kishor, who is following him, polled 16,059 votes, while Manju Bhandari of UML secured 12,825 votes.

The UCPN (MaoistAindra )’s Bikram Begha has been elected deputy mayor. He got 20,510 votes. Padam Prasad Limbu of the UML secured 17,606 votes.
