KATHMANDU: MAY. 22 – The final results of 706 local level polls held on May 13 have so far been made public.

According to the Election Commission, 706 votes count in rural municipalities, municipalities, and metropolitan cities have been counted, and the results have been made public. 93.94 percent of the country’s 753 municipalities have been counted.

The Nepali Congress has been leading in the polls, followed by the CPN (UML), and the CPN (Maoist) Center. Votes are being counted in some municipalities, including Kathmandu, Lalitpur, Bharatpur, Pokhara, and Birgunj.

Due to disputes in the polls held in Budiganga Municipality of Bajura and Triyuga Municipality-12 of Udayapur, the Election Commission has yet to decide whether to recount the votes or re-vote.
