DHANGADHI: MAY. 22 – Independent candidate Gopal Hamal has been elected as the Mayor of Dhangadhi Sub-Metropolitian. He won with 26,865 votes while the common candidate of the ruling alliance Nrip Bahadur Oda of the Nepali Congress got 14,817 votes.

Likewise, Rana Bahadur Chand of CPN (UML) garnered 9,115 votes to come third, according to the Office of the Chief Returning Officer.

Meanwhile, CPN (UML) candidate Kandakala Rana has been elected as the Deputy Mayor. She secured 15,479 votes while the CPN (Maoist Center) candidate Shanti Adhikari polled 12,670 votes.
