KATHMANDU: MAY. 19 – So far, the final results of 80 percent of the local elections have been made public.

By 3:30 p.m. today, 570 local level election results had been registered into the Election Commission’s system, according to Election Commission spokesperson Shaligram Sharma Poudel.

There have been 29,303 candidates elected thus far, including 174 for mayor, 174 for deputy mayor, 396 for chairperson, 396 for vice-chairperson, 5,659 for ward chairperson, 5,653 for women members, 5,556 for Dalit women members, and 11,295 for ward members.

The commission is confident that the remaining municipalities will be counted within the next five days.
