DADELDHURA: MAY. 19 – Dadeldhura’s newly elected local leaders have taken the oath.

Hari Prasad Sharma, District Judge and Chief Election Officer, administered the oath of office and secrecy to the newly elected chiefs and chairpersons of two municipalities and five rural municipalities on Thursday.

Mayor of Amargadhi Dilliraj Joshi, Mayor of Parshuram Municipality Bharat Badayar Joshi, Chairperson of Alital Rural Municipality Sher Singh Parki, Chairperson of Ajaymeru Rural Municipality Umesh Prasad Bhatta, Chairperson of Ganyapadhura Rural Municipality Indra Bahadur Karki, Chairperson of Navadurga Rural Municipality Laxmi Prasad Awasthi and Chairperson of Bhageshwor Rural Municipality Hemraj Chataut have taken an oath.

After taking the oath of office, District Judge Sharma congratulated the newly elected Mayor and Chairperson and urged them to work in accordance with popular sentiment.

There is a legal requirement that the Chairperson and Mayor take an oath of office and secrecy from the district judge of the district in question before taking office within seven days of their municipality’s election result.

Nepali Congress candidates won two municipalities and three rural municipalities in Dadeldhura, while Maoist candidates won two local levels.
