Speaker directs Finance Minister to attend Parliament

KATHMANDU: MAY. 19 – Speaker Agni Prasad Sapkota has directed that Finance Minister Janardan Sharma be present in the House while the principles and priorities of the budget are discussed.

During the House of Representatives meeting on Thursday, UML Parliamentary Party Chief Whip Bishal Bhattarai drew the Speaker’s attention to the fact that the Finance Minister was not present during the budget discussion. Speaker Sapkota then directed Finance Minister Sharma to appear in the House.

In the absence of Finance Minister Sharma, he also directed the ministers to be serious.

The participation of government ministers and parliamentarians in the budget debate in the House is lower.
