KATHMANDU: MAY. 19 – The results of 540 municipalities elections for local level members have been made public. Nepali Congress, CPN-UML, CPN-Maoist Center, CPN-Unified Socialist, JSP, Democratic Socialist Party, RPP and some independents have won the post from the municipality so far.

According to the most recent figures, the Congress won 246 seats, the UML 156, the UCPN (Maoist) 104, the CPN-Unified Socialist Party 10 seats, the JSP 14 seats, RPP 2, LOSAPA 1 and 16 municipality chief won the post of independent candidates.

Among the places where the counting of votes is going on, the Congress is leading, while the UML, the Maoist Center and the Unified Socialists are in the second, third and fourth place respectively.

Congress is leading in 74 seats while UML is leading in 42 seats. Similarly, the Maoist Center has secured 13 seats, the CPN-U has secured 10 seats, the JSP has secured 20 seats and the Democratic Socialist Party has secured 11 seats. Others are ahead in 13 places.
